About the Convening
The first gathering brings together design educators from across Indian institutions for five days of workshops and discussions. Four days of hands-on workshops exploring the five questions, followed by a day of panel discussions synthesising what we learn.
This is not a conference with papers and presentations. It is a working meeting — teachers in conversation about what they are seeing in their studios and classrooms, sharing approaches they have tried, and building shared understanding.

Understanding the operations AI performs — pattern recognition, generation, retrieval, interpolation — and where they enter student work.
Which cognitive and creative capacities are developed, and which are bypassed, when AI enters the design process?
How AI changes the social space of design education — crits, desk reviews, peer learning, shared struggle.
Rethinking evaluation when process becomes invisible, and examining whose interests AI tools serve.
